I’ve been mostly hibernating lately, and out of this deep forest expedition into new music, I’ve got a few more songs for you, all diving into the changing sounds that began with the year that birthed my second EP “Cat Faze“. I’ll be performing some of them for the first time at my show Friday, March 4th at The Starry Plough. Unfortunately Terrell can’t make that show, but I’ll be joined by Sarah Glass (harp, keyboard, and guitar), Lewis Patzner (cello), Nick Nirva (bass), and Tim Decillis (drums).
Hannah Werdmuller’s new band Django Moves to Portland (sploof on my part on the flyer), with members of Chonk!, will be opening the night. Some of you may have seen her solo act already, but even if you have you won’t want to miss out on the grooves this collective will shake.
Also sharing the bill is The Rugs, a band hailing from Chico, who”straddle several genres, producing alternative rock music with the occasional pop flair”.
Headlining the night is “rock n’ roll, folk, world, americana, funk, psychedelic, alternative” band Rainbow Girls. “With soaring harmonies and a slew of instruments, these gals weave their way through multiple musical genres, from rock n’ roll to folk, Americana to funk, psychedelic to soul. The ladies came together at an underground open mic in Santa Barbara, CA in December of 2010 and spent the following summer busking and couch surfing around Europe. Since then they have morphed from an acoustic street band into an electric, foot stomping spectacular, complete with plenty of mayhem, the juggling of instruments, and an entire spectrum of original music.” – About, Rainbow Girls
See you all there!
